Marri Brooks

Growing up in small towns throughout NC, Marri learned early the value of history.  She spent her summers vacationing with her family to historical sites like Williamsburg enriching her love for history.  Now, Marri shares her love of history with her students at Scotland Early College HS.

In addition to her love of history, Marri spends quality time with her family who live in Pembroke aka Lumbeeland.  She has 2 nephews who enjoy a trip to the movie theater on the weekend or grabbing a burger at a local eatery.  In her spare time, Marri catches up on historical dramas like AMC's TURN on Netflix.

Nicole Clemens

Grew up as a military brat, being dragged from historic site to historic battlefield as a child kicking and screaming.  Now, she pays that forward as a teacher.  A high school English teacher, she co-teaches an integrated American Literature & Composition and US History course at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, MO.

When she’s not at school, you can find her coaching gymnastics around the state.  She lives in Columbia with her husband, Patrick, and two children, Ashlyn and Elliot.

Melissa Green

Sprouted from the soil of the Pacific NorthwestAs a teacher she's taught in North Carolina, and Virginia.    She is a huge supporter of reading, and looks forward to reading at least one YA novel every two weeks.  In addition, she is a writer and a MFA student at George Mason University.

Her grandmother introduced her to family history.  It was those stories that sparked her interest into topics like the Civil War, The American Revolution, and World History.

Brian Linton

Grew up in Petal, MS where he now teaches. Before teaching middle school history he was a band and choir director. (Yes this is a weird transition, but hey, it works) Brian got his undergrad degree from William Carey University. He is now working on his Master's from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Brian has been married for 14 years and has two beautiful little girls.

Mark Runge

Has always been an artist. As a young child he illustrated and bound his stories into books and sold them around the neighborhood. He ran wild through the woods creating friends with whom only he could play and bringing to life out of the refuse of others places that existed only in his mind. Some of his best art moments occurred on stormy, Florida nights when the power went out, and his family gathered at the kitchen table to draw by lamplight.

He married a wonderful woman, Val, who is a teacher, musician, and artist. They live with two cats, André Flyrod and Allowicious. They are a single car family.

 Rachel Warrick

Lives in in Raleigh, NC and teaches middle school mock trial and social studies. She is originally from Fredericksburg, Virginia and went to the College of William and Mary. After she graduated, she joined the Peace Corps! She has taught English in Namibia.

Outside of school she is an avid reader, knitter, hiker, and soccer player. She also enjoys gardening, riding her bike, and going on road trips. When she can find the time and money she also would love to travel.  In so many words, she is always planning her next big adventure.
