Wartime Service

Seymour Hollingsworth served in the Army of the Potomac from 1861 to 1865.  His service during the four years of the war was exceptional when researching his life through federal government records.  Hollingsworth began the war as a Private and ended the war as a Corporal. Hollingsworth served in the infantry as well as the cavalry and he even changed his name during his tenure of service.  While Hollingsworth escaped the war without severe injury, he still sustained some physical trauma as a result of the war.
